The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Makes Its Debut In Gran Turismo 7

    Published on:

Gran Turismo 7 is officially adding its first-ever Xiaomi vehicle—and it’s no ordinary car. Starting this month, players on PS4 and PS5 will be able to test their skills behind the wheel of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, a top-of-the-line smart electric vehicle that’s made headlines for its Nürburgring track times and luxury-focused engineering.

A Digital Debut for One of the Fastest Four-Doors on Earth

Announced during the Gran Turismo World Series 2025 kickoff in London, the partnership between Xiaomi and Polyphony Digital marks a major crossover moment. The SU7 Ultra is the first Xiaomi model to ever appear in a Gran Turismo title, and its addition signals the growing presence of smart EVs in digital motorsport spaces.

The Xiaomi SU7 itself is no slouch. With a tri-motor system pushing out 1,548 PS and a sub-2-second 0–100 km/h time, the SU7 Ultra is built for more than just comfort. It’s a carbon-fiber-loaded, aerodynamically tuned machine that’s already earned a reputation as one of the fastest production sedans on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

And now, it’s coming to your living room.

When Real-World Performance Meets Racing Sim Precision

The inclusion of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra in Gran Turismo 7 wasn’t just a licensing decision—it followed a hands-on visit. Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi personally tested the car in Beijing earlier this year and toured Xiaomi’s Yizhuang EV facility. That first-hand experience helped kickstart this deeper collaboration.

In his statement, Yamauchi praised Xiaomi’s rapid progress in automotive innovation and their bold, detail-driven engineering:

“Xiaomi has created an exceptional vehicle in the SU7 Ultra. Its performance at the Nürburgring is a testament to the team’s courage, passion, and precision—values that align with Gran Turismo’s philosophy.”

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun echoed the sentiment, noting that both companies are driven by a shared goal: to improve lives through cutting-edge technology.

“It’s an honor to bring our EV into a game known for such high standards. We believe Gran Turismo players will be excited to experience what the SU7 Ultra can do.”

A Track-Tested EV Built With Sim Racers in Mind

What makes the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra different from other luxury EVs in the market—and now, in Gran Turismo 7—is its obsessive attention to track validation. Xiaomi’s engineers spent months fine-tuning its torque vectoring, adaptive damping, and heat dissipation across world-famous circuits. Chief test driver Zhoucan Ren confirmed the team’s ongoing presence at the Nürburgring, noting that racing feedback directly shapes their production models.

Specs-wise, the car’s 350+ km/h top speed and HyperEngine V8s architecture (27,200 rpm!) put it firmly in hypercar territory. But its integration into Gran Turismo also allows players to appreciate the little things—handling weight transfer, luxury trim visuals, and the responsiveness of Xiaomi’s EV tech under stress.

The Next Phase: Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo

Alongside the SU7 Ultra’s arrival in GT7, Xiaomi and Polyphony Digital have also confirmed work on a new co-developed project: the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo concept. This virtual-only model is expected to explore design and performance boundaries even further, much like other iconic Vision GT cars from manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, and Bugatti.

As both Xiaomi and Gran Turismo evolve in their respective fields—one in luxury electric mobility, the other in hyper-detailed simulation—this partnership feels like a natural match. And for fans of high-speed precision driving, the SU7 Ultra is a welcome new challenger.
