Chaos descends upon Limveld as the Endless Night deepens — FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia have rolled out a brand-new challenge mode for Elden Ring: Nightreign, the standalone co-op survival spin-off that’s been pushing Nightfarers to their limits since launch. Starting today, players can test themselves against the brutal Deep of Night mode, a free update now live on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
What is Deep of Night?
This end-game challenge is designed for the bravest Nightfarers, adding new layers of difficulty across Limveld. In Deep of Night, the Nightlord and Shifting Earth remain hidden until the fight begins, enemies across the map gain increased strength, and mutated variants show up to wreak havoc with unpredictable, deadly traits.
To balance the odds, new variant weapon enhancements can be discovered, but they come with a twist — some upgrades might also carry drawbacks, like increasing the damage you take. Survivors will need to weigh every decision carefully to make it through.
Depths Relics and Ranking System
Deep of Night introduces three new relic slots, exclusive to Depths Relics — powerful items earned only in this mode. Much like the weapons, Relics can offer potent benefits but may also carry risky trade-offs. Players who succeed in their runs will earn a rank, with challenges escalating further as they climb the ladder and cross milestone thresholds.
And for those who think they’ve mastered everything Limveld has to offer, Deep of Night holds an even darker possibility: unknowingly facing an Everdark Sovereign Nightlord, a foe that embodies the harshest challenge Nightreign has ever seen.
