James Cameron’s Oscar-winning Avatar: The Way of Water is making its way back to the big screen for a special limited run. Filipino fans can catch the global box office hit exclusively in 3D from October 1 to 7, giving audiences another chance to experience Pandora’s breathtaking oceans as they were meant to be seen.
A Global Phenomenon Revisited
Released in 2022, Avatar: The Way of Water became the third highest-grossing film of all time with more than $2.3 billion earned worldwide. It went on to win the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects and earned multiple Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. The film set a new benchmark for visual storytelling, blending cutting-edge effects with emotional depth.

The story picks up more than a decade after the first film, focusing on Jake, Neytiri, and their family as they face new dangers, explore the seascapes of Pandora, and discover Na’vi cultures living by the water. It’s a tale of survival, family bonds, and resilience told against the most visually striking backdrop James Cameron has ever created.
The Cast and Production
The film stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, and Kate Winslet, joined by newcomers Britain Dalton, Jamie Flatters, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Bailey Bass, and Jack Champion. Produced by Cameron alongside Jon Landau, the screenplay was written by James Cameron, Rick Jaffa, and Amanda Silver, with story credits also going to Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno.
Catch the Re-Release
Avatar: The Way of Water will be shown in the Philippines starting October 1, exclusively in 3D for one week. It’s a rare chance to revisit Pandora’s oceans in theaters — or to experience them for the first time the way Cameron intended.
