The first-ever Disney Lorcana World Championships just wrapped up, and it was a wild ride from start to finish. Held at Walt Disney World Resort on June 28–29, 2025, this invite-only event brought together 28 of the best players in the world for two days of tense matches, surprise upsets, and some pretty incredible deck tech – all to find out who will be the first Lorcana World Champion.

A Format That Tested Everything
Unlike most tournaments, this wasn’t just a constructed brawl. Day 1 opened with a Super Sealed format, where players had to build their decks from scratch using sealed product on the spot. After that came Triple Deck Constructed, where players rotated between three pre-built decks of their own design.
It was a format designed to test everything: adaptability, deckbuilding chops, and deep understanding of the meta. By the end of Day 1, only eight players remained in the running for the world title.
Meet Your Top 8

After some truly cutthroat rounds, these eight players emerged at the top:
- Ed Chiu
- Zach Bivens
- Dinh Khang Pham
- Luca Lazzara
- Lukas Kaupa
- Federico Mecozzi Marinangeli
- Morgan Shamblin
- Elie Vepierre
It was a stacked group, with a good mix of Challenge Series regulars and international wildcards. And with Day 2 set as single-elimination, anything could—and did—happen.
Dinh Khang Pham Takes It All
In a nail-biting five-game final against Ed Chiu, it was Dinh Khang Pham who pulled off the win, on the back of a Merlin – Goat quest plus the ability of Giant Cobra – Ghostly Serpent. His composure under pressure was next-level, especially after a roughGame 3, and the win felt well-earned.

Not only does Pham walk away with the trophy, he also receives a serialized Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Tailor promo (1 of 500), a complete Enchanted set from Reign of Jafar, exclusive Challenge promos, and of course, bragging rights as the first-ever Lorcana World Champion.
The Coolest Promos Yet
Even if you didn’t win, just making it to Worlds had serious perks. All Top 8 competitors received that serialized Mickey card, which is already making collectors sweat. The Top 4 took home full sets of Reign of Jafar, including every Enchanted. And for the final two? Even more exclusive Challenge Series promos to add to their arsenal.

It’s the kind of prize support that sets the tone for Lorcana’s future and signals how seriously Ravensburger is taking the competitive scene.
Community Reaction: High Hype, Some Hiccups
While the overall vibe around the event was positive, there were mixed feelings online about the invite-only format. Some longtime Lorcana players voiced concerns about accessibility, especially for those grinding in smaller scenes or just discovering the game.
Still, the Twitch broadcast, complete with pro commentary from familiar names like RebekahQuests, JDZ Quest, and The Illumiteers, was a huge hit, and many are hoping that future Worlds will blend elite competition with more open-qualifier pathways.
What’s Next for Lorcana Competitive Play?
With Archazia’s Island and Reign of Jafar still fresh, and Fabled plus Whispers in the Well on the horizon, the competitive landscape is about to evolve again. We’ve already seen what top-tier players can do with current mechanics; now all eyes are on what new Enchanted cards, synergy types, and keywords might shake things up heading into the next season.

The big question now is: Will next year’s Worlds be open to more players? Judging by how much buzz this first one generated, we wouldn’t be surprised if Ravensburger expands the path to the top in 2026.
Now that the ink’s dried on this chapter, it’s time to start preparing for the next. Huge congratulations to DKP for making history as the first-ever Lorcana World Champion!
