Lenovo Shares Key Wins in FY 2024/25 ESG Report as It Pushes Toward Net-Zero Goals

    Published on:

The latest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report for FY 2024/25 of Lenovo offers a transparent look at how the company is tracking its long-term commitments, and the results show strong progress across the board.

With its first wave of ESG targets nearing completion, Lenovo remains on track for many of its 2030 emissions reduction goals. The company is also staying firm in its ambition to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, aligning its targets with the Science Based Targets initiative.

    Circular Economy and Climate Commitments

Sustainability remains a core pillar in Lenovo’s operations. The FY 2024/25 report outlines efforts to integrate closed-loop recycled materials into more products, extending the life of devices while reducing waste. Lenovo also continues to offer sustainable services—repair programs, recycling initiatives, and product take-back systems—that help keep devices in use longer and materials in circulation.

As part of its climate journey, the company is doubling down on emissions reduction and supply chain sustainability, aiming to make measurable changes that last.

    Recognition From Global ESG Watchdogs

Lenovo’s performance isn’t going unnoticed. In the past year alone, the company earned Platinum Recognition from EcoVadis, an AAA rating from MSCI ESG Ratings, and a Gold Award for Best Corporate Governance and ESG from the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA). It also ranked #8 in Gartner’s Top 25 Global Supply Chain with a near-perfect ESG Score of 9/10.

These awards reflect growing trust in Lenovo’s ability to deliver on its ESG commitments with credible, data-backed results.

    Expanding Global Social Impact

On the social side, Lenovo is scaling its best practices for inclusivity and community support. It was once again named a Best Workplace for People with Disabilities by Disability:IN in the United States—and now holds that recognition in the UK and Brazil as well.

The company also saw a record 44% increase in people reached through its annual volunteerism campaign, the Love on Month of Service, highlighting the growing reach of its employee-led social impact programs.

A Stronger Framework for AI and Governance

Lenovo’s approach to governance continues to evolve, especially in the area of AI ethics. In 2024, the company introduced a comprehensive AI governance policy that reflects its commitments to international standards set by groups like UNESCO, the European Commission, and the Government of Canada.

To strengthen these efforts internally, Lenovo appointed Doug Fisher as Chief AI Officer—an expansion of his current role as Chief Security Officer. This ensures responsible innovation remains embedded across all departments and products.

    Looking Ahead

According to Dave Carroll, Lenovo SVP, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Responsibility Officer, this year marks a major turning point. “We’re proud of the progress we’ve made and are focused on building the foundation for our next chapter of ESG leadership,” Carroll said. He took over the role from Laura Quatela in March 2025.

Moving forward, Lenovo plans to deepen collaboration with customers, suppliers, and industry leaders through platforms like the Lenovo 360 Circle, pushing for a more sustainable and inclusive tech future.
