PGDX 2025 Feels Like A Homecoming For Tito and Tita Gamers

    Published on:

It’s that time of the year again when every gamer in the Philippines starts circling dates and saving up for con snacks – PGDX is back, and this year, it’s feeling a little more personal.

The Philippine GameDev Expo 2025 isn’t just announcing big names or shiny reveals. Instead, it’s leaning into the things that make our gaming community what it really is: weird, wonderful, wildly passionate, and just a little sentimental.

Here’s what’s got us hyped so far.

For the Tito, the Tita, and Everyone Who Misses the Old LAN Days

If you grew up spending hours in internet cafés, skipping recess for Counter-Strike 1.3, and arguing over who’s actually good at Marvel vs. Capcom 2—this is your moment.

The Tito Gaming Tournament Series is officially happening at PGDX 2025, and registration is now open. You’ll get to compete in the holy trinity of boomer gaming:

    • Counter-Strike 1.3
    • Marvel vs. Capcom 2
    • Tetris (for the OG multitaskers with lightning-fast thumbs)

Whether you’re here to relive glory days or finally settle that 2007 grudge match, this is your chance to put your retro skills to the test. No need for fancy RGB setups. Just bring your muscle memory and that one cracked friend who always picked Cable.

Seriously—don’t be shy. You know you still got it.

Indie Devs Are The Main Character This Year

While the retro vibes are giving comfort, PGDX is also pushing the future of Filipino gaming forward.

Indie Game Stars just dropped their sixth wave of featured devs, and the lineup is packed with local creatives doing things their own way. These aren’t just games. They are stories, risks, and love letters written in code.

And the best part? You get to be part of it.

PGDX just launched the Indie Game Stars People’s Choice, where the dev with the most community votes will walk away with a ₱100,000 cash prize. But more than that, they get validation. Visibility. A shot.

It’s not easy making games in the Philippines. But seeing an entire stage dedicated to indie devs who dared to do things their own way? That’s what community looks like.

Go vote. Share. Tell your barkada. Your support matters more than you think.

    Streams That Actually Get Us

Weekly streams are usually just background noise. But PGDX’s livestream series is slowly becoming one of those rare corners of the internet that actually understands geek culture.

Each week, it dives into everything from cosplay and collectibles to real convos with game devs and local creators. There are “Tito & Tita Gaming” fight club matchups, sneak peeks at upcoming PGDX content, and lots of hilarious, chaotic energy.

If you’re the kind of fan who grew up on Pinoy cosplay forums, old-school fan dubs, or indie dev blogs, you’ll feel right at home here.

    What’s Coming Next

    • Competitive retro gaming tournaments featuring CS 1.3, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and Tetris
    • Six new indie games under the Indie Game Stars spotlight
    • A ₱100,000 People’s Choice award for the top-voted indie game
    • Weekly livestreams featuring devs, cosplayers, and community creators

The main schedule, exhibitor list, and guest announcements are still on the way. If you’re planning to join the tournament, check out the games, or just be part of the crowd, it’s a good idea to keep tabs on updates over the next few weeks.
