Ranking Anime Schools You’d Actually Survive In (Sorry, Jujutsu Tech)

    Published on:

Anime schools are a lie—and we mean that in the best way. For every quiet study session, there’s a building-sized mecha crashing through the walls, a pop quiz on summoning demons, or a final exam where failure literally means death. So let’s be real: some anime schools just aren’t survivable unless you’re the main character.

Here’s a totally biased and slightly paranoid ranking of anime schools where you might actually make it out alive.

    1. U.A. High School (My Hero Academia) — You’ll Be Fine… Probably

Yes, there are villains. Yes, your classroom gets wrecked a lot. But honestly? If you’re in the General Studies department or the support course, your odds of survival are surprisingly solid. Not everyone’s out there throwing hands with Shigaraki. Plus, they have actual rescue drills and competent teachers… which is more than we can say for half the schools on this list.

    Survivability Rating: 7.5/10
If you’re not in Class 1-A, you’ll mostly be stressed but alive.

    2. Luna Nova (Little Witch Academia) — Hogwarts, But Less Fatal

Magic mishaps aside, Luna Nova is whimsical, well-structured, and full of charming chaos. Sure, you might turn yourself into a frog or accidentally open a portal to another dimension, but the professors are generally kind, and the stakes rarely escalate to “you might die tonight” levels.

    Survivability Rating: 9/10
The worst injury you’ll get is magical whiplash or glitter inhalation.

    3. Kunugigaoka Junior High (Assassination Classroom) — Surprisingly Wholesome… If You Ignore the Murder Part

Yes, your teacher is a yellow tentacle alien who wants you to assassinate him. But—and this is important—he cares deeply about your education. The students of Class 3-E come out more well-rounded, skilled, and emotionally intelligent than most anime graduates. Plus, the actual danger level is heavily controlled.

    Survivability Rating: 8/10
Emotionally intense? Yes. Lethal? Only with permission.

    4. Hyakkaou Private Academy (Kakegurui) — Just Don’t Gamble. Ever.

If you can resist the urge to bet your dignity, fingernails, or entire student status on rock-paper-scissors, you’ll be fine. The real danger isn’t physical violence—it’s financial ruin and existential dread. As long as you mind your own business and avoid eye contact with Yumeko Jabami, you can coast.

    Survivability Rating: 6.5/10
Bring cash. Bring backup. Don’t bring a poker face.

    5. Kamome Academy (Toilet-bound Hanako-kun) — Ghost Problems, but Manageable

This school has seven supernatural mysteries and most of them are more mischievous than malevolent. You might get haunted or mildly possessed, but death isn’t the default outcome. As long as you follow ghost etiquette and don’t open cursed bathroom stalls, you’re good.

    Survivability Rating: 7/10
You’ll probably befriend a ghost. Weirdly wholesome.

BONUS: Jujutsu High (Jujutsu Kaisen) — You’re So Dead

You thought we’d forget? Please. This school sends teenagers to fight ancient cursed spirits on the daily. Even if you’re talented, your life expectancy drops the second you enroll. Half your classmates have trauma, the other half are already dead or dying, and Gojo’s not around enough to save everyone.

    Survivability Rating: 2/10
Unless your name is Yuuji Itadori, just run.
