Team Liquid Philippines (TLPH) are once again the kings of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) after sweeping Aurora Gaming (RORA) 4–0 in the MPL Philippines Season 16 Grand Finals. The best-of-seven series took place on October 26, 2025, at the Cuneta Astrodome, drawing a record-breaking crowd of over 2,300 fans.

The win cements Team Liquid PH’s back-to-back championship run and marks another milestone in their “Golden Road” journey to the M7 World Championship this January in Indonesia. Their precision, teamwork, and discipline proved unmatched, showcasing why the Philippines remains a global powerhouse in MLBB esports.
Jaypee Leads the Charge
Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz stood out as the Finals MVP, earning the spotlight with game-winning plays and clutch performances in games two and three. His leadership and consistency throughout the series were crucial in securing the sweep against a strong RORA lineup that had only lost twice all season.

TLPH’s victory didn’t just earn them the lion’s share of the prize pool. It also reinforced their reputation as one of the most dominant teams in MPL history.
A Festival of Esports and Music
The MPL PH Season 16 Playoffs transformed into a full-blown festival for Filipino esports fans. The five-day event wasn’t only about competition — it was a celebration of community, creativity, and passion.
Fans enjoyed the MPL Festival Superfan City, complete with sponsor activations, exclusive team merchandise, and free watch parties that brought the energy outside the main stage. Each day kicked off with the Community Parade, where fans proudly waved their banners and marched in support of their favorite teams.

To cap it all off, Sony Music Philippines powered the entertainment lineup with electrifying performances from Barq, UNXPCTD, Nobita, and Ace Banzuelo, blending the excitement of music and esports into one unforgettable experience.
A New Era of Collaboration and Growth
Matthew Chan, PH Head of Esports at MOONTON Games, described Season 16 as a turning point for the league. “This season stood as a testament to the league’s evolution, showcasing the eras that shaped the very identity of Philippine excellence in MLBB esports. From veterans who built their legacy to the new and rising stars pushing boundaries, every match told a story of dedication and heart,” he said.

MPL PH Season 16 was also supported by strong brand partners. Infinix powered the matches as the official tournament phone, Smart ensured fans stayed connected as the official telco partner, while BPI, Knorr, and Clear brought interactive booths and fan-focused activities that made the event feel like a true community festival.
The Road to SEA Games and M7
With their MPL title secured, Team Liquid PH and Aurora Gaming will represent the Philippines at the M7 World Championship in Indonesia this January. The country aims to extend its five-year world title streak — a legacy that has made Filipino teams the benchmark of excellence in MLBB esports.
The Grand Finals opening ceremony also marked the official launch of the country’s SEA Games 2025 campaign, with representatives from the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) and Philippine Esports Organization (PESO) showing full support for local athletes.

Marlon Marcelo, Executive Director of PESO, emphasized the league’s impact: “MPL Philippines continues to be a cornerstone of our esports ecosystem. It’s the perfect platform for discovering and developing Filipino talent — many of whom go on to represent the country under SIBOL.”
SIBOL’s Next Chapter
For the upcoming 33rd SEA Games in Bangkok, John Carlo “Caloy” Roma joins TLPH’s roster for the SIBOL MLBB Men’s team, while NAVI PH’s core five players and Clarisse “CLA” Cordova will lead the Women’s team.
The Philippines’ run in both tournaments will be watched closely by fans and analysts around the world, as the nation once again carries the banner of esports excellence.
Continuing the Legacy

MPL PH Season 16 proved that esports in the Philippines is more than just competition — it’s a celebration of talent, teamwork, and community spirit. As Team Liquid PH prepares for M7, fans across the country rally behind them, confident that the Golden Road still shines bright for Filipino esports.
