The Best Songs in Uma Musume: Post-Race Performances That Steal the Show

    Published on:

The post-race performances are undoubtedly one of the biggest draws of the Uma Musume franchise. Even if the horse lore, strategic gameplay, and waifu aspects haven’t already captured your heart (and wallet), seeing your trainee up there leading an elaborate song number is one of those novel experiences you won’t forget. It’s the perfect reward and testament to all your hard work training your Uma Musume to victory.

What truly sets these post-race concerts apart is their incredible production value. The music is genuinely top-notch, while the presentation, choreography, and visual elements can rival—or even exceed—actual concerts and music videos. The magical feeling when all these elements come together creates an experience that makes you feel like you’re right there with the performers on stage.

The musical backbone of Uma Musume comes from an impressive team of composers and sound producers. Akihiro Honda, who worked on the Metal Gear franchise and serves as Sound Producer for Princess Connect Re:Dive, acts as the music producer for Uma Musume’s in-game BGM, while Uchida Tetsuya, known for his work on THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls and idol songs like “Onegai! Cinderella,” handles the vocal song production. This collaboration between gaming audio veterans and idol music specialists creates the perfect fusion that makes each performance feel both epic and emotionally resonant.

Our Favorite Concerts in the English Version

Honorable Mention: Bakushin Bakushin Bakushinshin Sometimes you just need a song that exists purely for the laughs, and this one delivers exactly that.

The Best Part: The lyrics is easy to memorize lol. Also, it’s hard not to like Sakura Bakushin O’s infectious energy.

3rd Place: A Little Prayer This beautiful performance serves as an amazing tribute that perfectly closes out Rice Shower’s deeply emotional storyline. The song captures the weight of her journey while providing a touching moment of reflection that hits all the right notes.

The Best Part: The realization that this is Rice Shower’s dream fulfilled – to be accepted and loved by the people that she runs so hard for.

2nd Place: Winning the Soul Here’s where Uma Musume really shows its range. “Winning the Soul” is an absolute banger that you can’t help but rock out to, demonstrating that these characters can handle everything from heartfelt ballads to high-energy anthems with equal skill.

The Best Part: Far from the colorful, idol concert-ish stage that most songs take place in, this one is more akin to a rock concert, which is a welcome and interesting change.

1st Place: Umapyoi Legend Simply put, this is perfection. “Umapyoi Legend” manages to be catchy, heartfelt, and absolutely amazing all at once. It captures everything that’s cute and wonderful about the franchise while forging an incredible connection with your Uma trainee. The fact that you unlock it after winning the actual URA Finals makes the moment even more special—it’s epic in the most adorable, emotional way possible.

The Best Part: The “run” sequence later in the song leading to the last repeat of the chorus is always awesome to watch, whether it’s the first time you’ve seen it or it’s your 20th time clearing the URA finals. We don’t blame you if you sing along to this one – we do too!

What’s Coming: Spoiler Alert for Future English Releases

There are two incredible performances waiting in the wings that will (in our humble opinion) absolutely blow away everything currently available in the English version:

Legend Changer is an absolute banger featuring stylish set pieces, dynamic camera angles, and show-stopping microphone choreography that elevates the entire performance to new heights.

Girls Legend U takes everything great about “Umapyoi Legend” and multiplies it by ten. The concert features an incredible concept where performers start at the bottom of a castle stage and gradually ascend as the song progresses, culminating in the uppermost area. That solo spotlight moment transitioning into the finale transforms what’s already beautifully magical into something truly EPIC.

The Magic of Commitment to Excellence

These concerts represent one of Uma Musume’s greatest strengths and have captured the hearts of many players who never expected to fall in love with virtual horse girl performances—myself included. I’ve been completely blown away by the quality and found myself genuinely falling in love with both the performances and the songs themselves.

Uma Musume serves as a perfect example of what happens when developers commit fully to their premise and execute it with such care and quality that you can’t help but appreciate and love it. For many of us, these magical moments have created what might just be lifelong fans of the franchise.
