Teamfight Tactics is stepping into the ring with its most anime-fueled, high-octane set yet. K.O. Coliseum officially hits PBE servers on July 15 and launches across mobile and PC platforms by July 30, bringing a full-blown fighting tournament to the Convergence.

From star-powered magical girls to mecha juggernauts and wrestling champs, TFT’s newest set brings over-the-top visuals, quirky traits, and a powerful new mechanic called Power Ups. Riot Games showcased all this and more in their latest Dev Drop—and fans are already gearing up for battle.
It’s Fight Night: Champions and Traits You’ll Love
The champions of K.O. Coliseum feel like they’ve been pulled straight from your favorite anime. Seraphine leads the Star Guardians with a dazzling AOE friendship bomb. Kobuko, TFT’s first original champ, makes a return as a Mentor, while heavy hitters like Gwen, Braum, Yone, Zyra, Twisted Fate, and Varus round out the 5-cost roster.
Traits range from tactical to pure chaos, including:
- Soul Fighter: The longer they stay in battle, the stronger they get—ending in true damage finishers.
- Star Guardian: Classic magical girl synergy—more allies, more power.
- Crystal Gambit: Gamble your way to glory or crash and burn. Cash out or double down every four rounds.
- Mighty Mech: Each unit powers up the Mech, especially at higher star levels.
- Luchador: Wrestling-style bruisers who leap back in at 50% health to cause mayhem.
- Mentor, Wraith, Battle Academia, and Supreme Cells: All bring unique power-ups and synergies.
- Monster Trainer: Lulu deploys monsters like Kog’Maw, Rammus, and Smolder to help win fights in creative ways.
- Stance Master: Lee Sin returns with the ability to shift stances for different playstyles mid-game.
Prismatic Traits are also evolving this set. You’ll need to reach the highest breakpoint and then complete a mini-quest to unlock a game-changing power. It’s a challenge, but the payoff is worth it.
Set Mechanic: Power Ups
Say goodbye to boring item hoarding. With Power Ups, you can upgrade any champion mid-game. Use Power Snax to give your units a fresh ability selection. Find someone better later? Take the Power Up off and pass it on.

It’s a flexible mechanic that rewards creativity and adaptation—perfect for a set that thrives on wild momentum swings.
New Augments, New Madness
K.O. Coliseum comes with 120+ augments, 70 of which are brand new. Highlights include:
- Tournament Favorites: Reward Soul Fighter dominance with loot.
- Tiny Team: Make vertical traits splashable in small doses.
- Diamond Hands: For those going all-in with Crystal Gambit risk plays.
Cosmetics and Arenas for Every Anime Vibe
Expect tons of flair with new tacticians, Chibi units like Spirit Blossom Lillia and Prestige Chibi Ahri, and gorgeous new arenas like The Veiled Village. Players can also customize portal skins like The Way of the K.O., Spirit Springs, and more.

The personalization continues with Portal and Boom updates to match every mood—serious, sparkly, or somewhere in between.
Behind the Scenes: Unit Roles Get a Tune-Up
Riot is refining how units gain mana, especially for tanks and carries. Tanks now gain more mana from taking damage and will draw more aggression naturally. This change balances mana interactions and solves some lingering edge cases, like unintentional splash damage feeding the enemy.
Competitive Scene Levels Up
K.O. Coliseum isn’t just launching a new set—it’s debuting a new esports era for TFT.
- TFT Pro Circuit (TPC): Begins in August 2025 with three events across all four major regions. The first event starts August 29 and features 32 top-tier players from Cyber City.
- TFT Paris Open (TPO): The largest TFT event ever, now featuring 768 slots, dev panels, co-streamer meetups, and an Artist Alley. A 4v4 side tournament kicks off on Day 2 for those eliminated early.
Expect competitive play to reach new heights, with more structure and better viewer experiences all around.
A Love Letter to Anime Fans
Michael Sloan, Lead Set Designer, shared that K.O. Coliseum draws direct inspiration from anime tournament arcs. “We wanted to give players a way to feel like they’re in the final showdown,” he said. “With Power Ups, you get to skip the training arc and get right into the action.”
Michael Sherman, Director of TFT Esports, added, “This is the most transformative update in TFT’s competitive history. Between TPC and the expanded Paris Open, we’re offering new paths for players to shine.”
