Marvel Rivals Season 2: Everything You Need to Know

    Published on:

Marvel Rivals Season 2 has been out for a while now and we’ve been treated to some massive changes (aside from Emma’s thighs). Here’s everything you need to know about the changes this season!

Hero Changes: Buffs, Nerfs, and Team-ups

Starting off with the hero changes, here’s what’s new with the heroes in Marvel Rivals starting off with Vanguard.

Captain America got some major nerfs this season with his overall base health going from 675 to 650. His shield, Living Legend, is also getting a decrease from 400 to 350. I guess this patch, he can’t do this all day.

Doctor Strange also saw some pretty significant nerfs from the new season. His Daggers of Denak are going from 18 damage to 16 while his Maelstrom of Madness conversion of Dark Magic is going down from 1.3 to 1.2. That means he no longer one shots squishies in his ult when popping a fully charged Maelstrom.

Hulk was arguably one of the most picked Vanguards in Marvel Rivals Season 1.5 but desperately needed more help. In this patch, he got a movement speed buff with his base speed going from 600 to 650. Indestructible Guard went down from 12 seconds to 10 and the minimum charge time for his leap went down from 0.7 seconds to 0.5. The large brute isn’t going to be so lumbering this patch.

Magneto is getting a slight nerf with the cost of his ultimate going up from 3100 to 3400.

Peni Parker got some changes to her overall movement and survivability. Her primary fire can now crit on headshots and the slow is decreased from 40% to 20%. Additionally, her base health went from 650 to 750.

The Ever-lovin’ Blue-Eyed Thing got a decrease in his damage reduction from Embattled Leap. The reduction went from 30% to 25%.

The God of Thunder himself also got some overall buffs this season. Thor‘s HP went from 525 to 600 and his movement speed went from 600 to 650 just like Hulk.

    Hero Changes: Duelist

Black Widow finally saw some much needed help. In Marvel Rivals Season 2, Nat can now immediately shoot after her ult and the second kick of Edge Dancer.

Hawkeye got some massive buffs this patch. The slow from charging his bow went down from 30% to 20% while the energy cost for his ult also saw a decrease. He now has improved bow draw speed increases from 1.35x to 1.5x while ult energy cost went from 3700 to 3100. All instances of damage from Hypersonic Arrows also went up from 50 to 55.

Hela saw a reduction in her mobility but was given a damage buff. Her Lshift cooldown went from 12 seconds to 15, while her secondary fire splash damage was increased from 30 to 35. Her E cooldown went down from 12 to 10 seconds.

Human Torch get’s some spicy updates with his primary fire attack speed and interval getting faster. Additionally, divebombing with his Flaming Meteor is no longer a kamikaze move; he now gains 75 bonus health that falls off after 3 seconds.

Iron Man gets scrappier with a decreased hitbox size and 100 bonus health in Armor Overdrive. While the decreased hitbox is great for avoiding enemy projectiles, that also includes team healing unfortunately.

The Immortal Iron Fist can now take on tanks with Yat Jee Chung Kuen changes. The base damage goes from 10 to 9 but the percentage damage on the enemy health scaling went from 1.7% to 2.1%. In addition, Harmony Recovery no longer gives 150 Bonus Max Health but the fall off rate is slowed to 10 per/s. His K’un-Lun Kick cooldown was also decreased from 12 to 10 seconds. Vanguard’s might want to sit Marvel Rivals out for a while.

Mister Fantastic got some fantastic (say that again?) buffs this patch. His base health went from 350 to 375, his primary fire now does 65 damage normally and 80 when in Inflated state, Flexible elongation now slow enemies in range by 35% while the cooldown went down from 10s to 8s. His Elasticity gained from his passive is now lessened though.

Magik’s Umbral Incursion in Darkchild form saw a buff, with its damage increasing from 115 to 135, making her ult feel more impactful in fights.

Moon Knight’s ultimate was improved unfortunately. Hand of Khonshu now spawns 18 talons instead of 14, but damage falloff is increased the further from the center. His hook pull-up is faster now and he also has an added bonus on his Moon Blade where he gets bonus health for every 2 enemies hit.

Scarlet Witch got a nerf in her survivability but her damage output had a slight change. While the percent scaling is gone, the fixed damage was buffed from 60/s to 80/s. Both Cthonian Burst projectile and field damage went from 34 to 40 and her Ult no longer slows her immediately.

Star Lord‘s E ability saw a damage fall off and damage decrease from 80/s to 75/s.

Winter Soldier got a nerf with his hook cooldown and his Ult got a damage decrease alongside the passive reset threshold. You won’t be hearing “Again!” 18 times in a row now.

Lastly, Wolverine‘s rage aquistion got some readjustments, mainly in his primary fire and abilities. His Ult knockdown time also got reduced.

    Hero Changes: Strategists

Adam Warlock saw some readjustments to his healing this patch. His Soul Bond cooldown went from 30s to 40s but his ultimate now restores 30% HP instead of the fixed 100.

Cloak and Dagger‘s Ult has some much needed change. Instead of all the zones disappearing one by one, all four will share a timer with the final zone, after which they disappear simultaneously.

Invisible Woman‘s shield is now 250 from 300 shield value.

Loki‘s healing zones got a little nerf. The cooldown was increased from 25s to 30s.

Mantis got some major readjustments to her kit. Her Health was reduced from 275 to 250 but her healing and buff can now stack.

Rocket Racoon got quite a bit of changes, but here are the major ones. Decrease the healing area of Repair Mode spheres from 70 health/s to 50 health/s, but add a new effect of one-time healing of 55 health to allies hit. Projectile speed reduction increased from 4.5 m/s to 7 m/s. Reduce C.Y.A. (Ultimate Ability) damage boost from 40% to 25%, but add a new effect: during the ability’s duration, linked allies will receive an additional 100 Bonus Health points per second, capping at 150. After breaking the link, this bonus starts to falloff after 1 second at a rate of 75 per/s. Additionally, increase the energy cost from 3700 to 4000.

    New Team-ups

Some team-ups are going away this season of Marvel Rivals. The notable ones being Bucky and Rocket Racoon, Magneto and Scarlet Witch, and the Thor, Storm and Cap team-up. Replacing them are the following:

    • Bucky and Captain America
    • Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange
    • Hulk and Namor
    • Psylocke, Magneto, and Emma Frost

On top of the new Hero, Emma Frost, we’ll be getting a new character every month according to NetEase. Next month, it’s going to be Ultron!
