The Vibes Asian Championship is heading to Manila as part of the YGG Play Summit 2025, happening on November 21–22. With a massive $20,000 USD (₱1.1 million) prize pool, this tournament is shaping up to be one of the biggest Trading Card Game (TCG) events in the region. The competition will be open to the public, limited to 128 players, with parental consent required for minors joining the event.

Developed by Orange Cap Games, Vibes is a digital and physical TCG inspired by the Pudgy Penguins brand. It mixes strategic card play with the quirky charm of Web3 culture, letting players build “huddles” of penguin characters, action cards, and relics to outwit opponents. Designed to be beginner-friendly yet deep enough for veterans, Vibes offers a gameplay experience reminiscent of Magic: The Gathering and Disney Lorcana.
Raising the Bar for Competitive Web3 Gaming
“We have the biggest tournaments and the world’s best competitors coming to the Philippines this November,” said Mike Ovecka, Head of YGG Esports and former esports lead for Hearthstone at Blizzard Entertainment. “We envision the YGG Play Summit as the heart of competitive Web3 gaming, and securing massive tournaments such as the Vibes Asian Championship demonstrates how serious we are about making that vision a reality.”
The tournament will follow a Swiss +1 format, leading into a Top 8 single-elimination final to decide the champion. Players who place within the top 32 will also take home a share of the prize pool. The event will be overseen by Sashi Balakrishnan, a certified Level 3 Magic: The Gathering Judge from Malaysia, to ensure fair and professional officiating throughout the event.
Accessible, Fair, and Community-Driven
One of the standout features of the Vibes Asian Championship is its proxy-friendly format. Participants can include up to 12 proxy cards—substitute versions of cards they don’t own—to keep the event accessible to all players regardless of collection size. It’s a move that reflects the spirit of inclusivity that Vibes and YGG are known for.

In addition to the main tournament, Learn-to-Play sessions and community tournaments are happening across Metro Manila and nearby provinces. These sessions, run by YGG Pilipinas Metaversity Marshals, help new players learn the ropes of Vibes through guided instruction, practice matches, and free starter decks.
