Cabal: Infinite Combo is set to make a grand return to the Philippines, reintroducing one of the most beloved MMORPGs from the late 2000s. Originally launched in 2008, Cabal quickly became a staple in the country’s gaming culture. Now, under the management of Combo Infinite Philippines, the game is transitioning to mobile platforms, with the goal of reaching both loyal veterans and new players.
Brian Co, CEO of Combo Infinite, emphasized the company’s focus on three core pillars for Cabal: Infinite Combo: sustainability, community, and quality. These guiding principles aim to ensure the game remains competitive, enjoyable, and capable of sustaining long-term engagement in an ever-evolving gaming landscape.
To celebrate the game’s return, Combo Infinite hosted the “Night of Knights,” a special event highlighting the strong community surrounding the game. More than just a launch event, it celebrated Cabal’s rich legacy, bringing together top players, community figures, and influencers from across the Philippines. Many attendees expressed excitement about the game’s mobile shift, noting that this new format will make the game accessible to a much broader audience. Mobile gaming in the Philippines has grown exponentially in recent years, and this move is seen as a strategic decision to cater to the country’s gaming trends.
The event featured a notable highlight: an auction for the prestigious “The Throne Protector” title. This unique in-game asset comes with powerful buffs – specifically lots of crit, providing significant in-game advantages to its holder. The auction began with a starting bid of PHP 50,000, with increments of PHP 50,000. The intense bidding soon escalated, with top players competing to claim this rare title. The bidding war ultimately concluded with a final price of PHP 4.4 million, an astonishing amount for a digital in-game asset. This record-setting bid has garnered attention in the Cabal community and the larger gaming industry, showcasing the value that some players place on virtual rewards.
“The Throne Protector” title is the first of its kind in the Southeast Asian server, offering the winner a unique status in the game.
Cabal: Infinite Combo is set to launch its closed beta on October 17, 2024. During this phase, players will have the opportunity to explore the game, test new features, and provide valuable feedback. The closed beta will allow the game’s developers to fine-tune the experience before the full release.
The return of Cabal: Infinite Combo has been met with enthusiasm. Long-time players are eager to return to the world they once knew, while new players are excited to dive into the game for the first time. With a strong commitment to community engagement, high-quality gameplay, and long-term sustainability, Cabal: Infinite Combo seems poised to recapture the hearts of Filipino gamers.
