Now that Arcane: League of Legends is done, fans are wondering what’s next. Well, Riot has confirmed that there are three series set to launch in succession. While we don’t know when, we at least know where the series are going to take place.
So, where to?
It’s been confirmed in an Interview with the Co-creator of Arcane, Christian Linke, that they already have three new shows in production. These shows will center around the regions of Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia. He didn’t reveal which one, but he mentioned that one of these shows has been in production for about a year now. That’s great news meaning the gap between Arcane and the new show will likely be about two years. That’s a lot better than the previous gap of three years between Arcane seasons.

We aren’t entirely sure which series is going to come out first but we can turn our attention to the League of Legends game for hints. Right now, the new season for 2025 is focused on the region of Noxus. We had a new cinematic hyping it up and everything. From this, we can sort of assume that Noxus is going to kick everything off after Arcane’s conclusion.
There are several key storylines that they could go for but we know that Noxus and Ionia are going to be more or less linked. Since we don’t know what each show is going to be about, we can only speculate what their plot is. We have a few ideas what they’re going to focus on if Arcane is any indicator.
Story Time
There are quite a bit of points in the lore that they could make shows out of. We kind of have a good idea where to look since Arcane was confirmed to be canon, so that means we have to look at historical moments in Runeterra history. For Noxus and Ionia, that would be the first and second Ionian-Noxian war.

In fact, we kind of have it confirmed due to an event that happened in the Welcome to Noxus cinematic. There, we see a young Darius fighting Trundle, the troll king at the base of the Ironspike Mountains. This event is assumed to take place a little before the Noxian occupation of Ionia since Noxus invaded the Ironspike Mountains at the same time.

I know that this is all confusing if you’re an Arcane only fan but let me break it down simply. Noxus, the region from the recent trailer, invades Ionia. Ionia is a oriental-inspired region of magic and nature and spirituality. Noxus (Where Mel and Ambessa are from) wants to occupy Ionia in a desperate gambit for power. This war saw the rise of many different champions and characters in the lore so it’s a good point to start for a Noxus show.
Demacia on the other hand may be a little harder to pinpoint plotwise. See, Demacia is the “justice and honor for all” kind of region and they look to be your textbook goody two shoes city. However, they’re extremely prejudiced to mages. They hate magic of all form and they even imprison people just for being mages. There’s an event in Demacia’s history known as the Great Mage Uprising, wherein a single mage known as Sylas led the other mages in a coup.

Will We See Arcane Characters?
While we’re not sure, it’s highly likely that some of them will make cameos. Mel is a given since she’s travelling back to Noxus. Singed may make an appearance in the Noxus Ionia war since he made chemical weapons for Noxus. Other than that, it’s pretty ambiguous if we’ll see Vi, Caitlyn, or Jinx outside of Zaun and Piltover.
